Ex-Tariffs

The Ex-tariff process is a regime created by the Government to benefit the import of equipment and production machinery, allowing the temporary decrease of 2% of the import taxes of capital goods (BK), Informatics and Telecommunications (BIT), for two years, once claimed there is no equivalent production in Brazil. The concession of the regime is given by resolution Camex (Chamber of Foreign Trade), after a favorable opinion of the Exhibitor Service (EX-Tariff Analysis Committee).

The Ex-Tariff Regime was created aiming at modernising and expanding the national productive sector and improving the services infrastructure in the country. This regime makes it possible to increase technological innovation by companies from different segments of the economy – as advocated in the guidelines of Industrial policy, technological and foreign Trade (PITCE), guarantees a level of protection for the national industry of capital goods, since it is only granted for goods that have no national production and produces a multiplier effect of employment and income on differentiated segments of the national economy.
